Duralyte Syrup is a carefully balanced electrolyte syrup that contains the exact ratio of electrolytes a horse loses during heavy sweating. This 2:2:1 combination of chloride, sodium and potassium quickly replaces your horse's electrolytes and is essential for horses during hot weather, training or competition to aid recovery and maintain optimal athletic performance.
The loss of electrolytes through breath, urine, feces and sweat is a normal process. However, during intense or prolonged training or competition, this process is accelerated and horses can lose up to 10–15 litres per hour through sweat alone.
Duralyte is scientifically balanced, combining all 5 essential electrolytes - chloride, sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium - in a sorbitol and glucose base to ensure high palatability. When offered along with plenty of fresh water, Duralyte helps to quickly restore the horse's fluid and electrolyte balance.
Always make sure there is plenty of fresh, lukewarm water available when giving your horse electrolytes.
