General preparations:
- Carefully clean the application area of dirt
- Place the pad in a clean, flat container so that the waterproof plastic film is facing upwards
Warm, moist compress:
- Pour boiled water cooled to 38°C into the container around the pad.
- After the pad has absorbed enough water, remove it from the container and carefully squeeze out any excess water.
- Place the dressing on the affected area so that the waterproof plastic film faces outwards (away from the skin). Press the dressing around the wound area.
- Fix the dressing with a bandage, e.g. a cohesive bandage or an elastic adhesive bandage, so that it is completely covered.
Cold and wet compress:
- The general preparations are the same as for warm moist compresses, except that in this case you should use boiled water that has completely cooled down. Pour the water into the container around the compress.
- After the pad has absorbed enough water, gently squeeze it to remove excess water.
- When the pad is cold, place it on the affected area so that the waterproof plastic film faces outwards (away from the skin).
