Clarity and trust in tournament sports
Modern equestrian sport means far more than talent and training. It is primarily about trust – trust in the products used, in the applicable standards, and in the daily decisions made for the well-being of the horse. For riders, trainers, and owners competing under strict competition regulations, safety is not an extra, but a fundamental requirement.
At Hestevard, this very trust is at the heart of everything we do.

What does FFPS TESTED mean?
The FFPS TESTED seal is much more than just a symbol. The FFPS emblem displayed on a product clearly indicates that this product has been tested for the presence of naturally occurring prohibited substances.
Testing is carried out in one of the world's leading, internationally recognized independent doping and monitoring laboratories – before the product goes on sale. This includes testing for substances such as caffeine or morphine, which are strictly prohibited in competitive sports.
FFPS – one step further than conventional testing systems
With our FFPS (Free From Prohibited Substances) system, we deliberately go one crucial step further:
👉It is not just the raw materials that are tested – every single production batch is checked.
This consistent batch-by-batch testing goes well beyond the scope of many other test models and offers an even higher level of safety regarding prohibited substances. This is the only way to reliably minimize risks from cross-contamination or natural fluctuations in raw materials.
True transparency and active risk reduction make the difference.
Naturally occurring prohibited substances – what does that mean?
Naturally occurring prohibited substances are not necessarily the result of intentional addition. For example, they can:
- be inherently present in certain raw materials
- occur unintentionally through cross-contamination, such as during the transport or storage of raw materials
Even though these substances are not permitted in competition, they can appear unnoticed without careful control. This is precisely why independent testing and the highest quality standards are essential.
Manufacturing according to the highest international standards
Our manufacturers meet the highest requirements for food and safety management according to international standards and ensure:
- strict control and traceability of ingredients
- comprehensive quality assurance at every production stage
- maximum safety for horse and rider in daily use as well as in competitive sports
Entering competition with confidence
Equestrian sport requires precision, responsibility, and transparency. With FFPS TESTED products, riders and owners can focus entirely on training and performance – knowing that every batch has been tested and that everything possible is being done to keep the risk of prohibited substances as low as possible. Statement regarding testing for prohibited substances – Hestevard products
Our approach to testing for prohibited substances
Every batch of a Hestevard product is tested for prohibited substances – in the same laboratories recommended under the recognized BETA program.
Before release, every batch also receives a Certificate of Analysis, which confirms that all tests have been performed and that all applicable requirements have been fully met.
Classification
The BETA program provides a reliable basis for minimizing the risk of contamination. However, it is primarily based on process controls and risk management, rather than the direct testing of every single batch.
Fluctuations can occur, particularly with naturally occurring prohibited substances. In a sporting environment with zero tolerance, it is therefore insufficient to rely solely on spot checks or HACCP-based controls to ensure complete freedom from prohibited substances in every single unit.
Our standard
For this reason, Hestevard deliberately goes a step further:
Even though our products are manufactured in facilities that meet the requirements of the BETA program and consistently operate according to HACCP principles, every finished batch is additionally tested comprehensively before release.
This additional testing step creates a high level of security. By consistently testing every batch, we reduce the risk of undetected contamination, increase traceability, and strengthen our customers' confidence in the consistent quality of our products.
What this means in concrete terms
We combine strict quality and production controls with systematic testing of every single batch.
This is how we guarantee the highest level of safety and reliability – for every user.
Riders and trainers choose Hestevard because they expect a comprehensive approach to nutrition and health support.
In order to meet this expectation and consistently develop our quality standards further, Hestevard invests specifically in its own batch testing, rather than simply duplicating processes already established within our production network.
Into the competition with confidence
Equestrian sports require precision, responsibility, and transparency. With FFPS TESTED products, riders and owners can focus entirely on training and performance – safe in the knowledge that every batch has been tested and that every possible measure is taken to minimize the risk of prohibited substances.
